St. Mary's Education

Interpretive Centre Event
At left we see a River Days celebration for young people at the SMRA Education & Interpretive Centre  in Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia.

We host events like wildlife presentations, fishing demos & derbys, fly tying demos & workshops, paddling tours, birding tours, tree planting projects and nature walks, all based upon the St. Mary's River. Education is key to our success.

The purpose of this education centre is to:
  • Increase awareness and appreciation of this wonderful river and its ecosystem
  • Create & promote fun participation opportunities for the public
  • Promote conservation, enhancement & protection
  • Preserve & exhibit items of historical & cultural importance
  • Involve our community & visitors, young & old, in SMRA's mission
  • Promote SMRA
  • Attract visitors to the area
