Over eons we've evolved, developing our arts, beginning with cave wall drawings, singing and drumming, to convey our innermost thoughts and spirituality. Many of us enjoy profound thoughts and deep feelings on the river. An intimacy and a passion like no other I know. Go to the river and feel it!
These are some works that express such emotions. But our list is short, just a taste. Needs more from you!
We welcome contributions & suggestions for works that you have discovered or created - those invoking very special feelings from river experiences. Just email them to us or post them on our forum at NSflyguy. C'mon, it's fun!
After all, this is a fun page! Fun for children (Kid Stuff) & adults.
Once, on a visit to Nova Scotia, Prince Charles asked to go salmon fishing on the LaHave River. Arrangements were quickly made and he did so on a Sunday morning. Someone later chided him for not being in church and he replied, "I can pray on the river but I can't fish in church." The prince gets it!
PS - There's someone fly fishing in at least six of these. How many can you find?

Joseph Purcell’s painting of nearby Goldenville, just west of the St. Mary's River, depicts the town’s saloons, hotel and temperance society hall. Despite the drinking, this district was the highest producer of all gold districts with 210,152 ounces mined between 1862 and 1960.
