Welcome to the St. Mary’s River Association Postcard Photo Contest! We’re excited to celebrate the beauty of our watershed through your lens. Please read the following rules carefully before submitting your photo(s).

Theme: The Spirit of the St. Mary’s River 
Photos should reflect the landscapes, wildlife, people, or moments that capture the spirit of the St. Mary’s River watershed.

🗓 Key Dates

• Submission Deadline: July 3, 2025 (11:59 PM AST)
• Finalists Announced: July 4, 2025
• Public Voting Period: July 4–14, 2025
• Winner Announced: July 15, 2025

✅ How to Enter

• Submit your photo(s) using the official entry form:

• Maximum of 3 photos per person
• Each photo must include:
  • A title
  • The location where the photo was taken
  • Your name and email address

📸 Photo Requirements

• Must be taken in the St. Mary’s River watershed
  
• Landscape orientation (ideal for postcards)
  
• Minimum resolution: 300 dpi
• File type: JPEG or PNG
  
• File size limit: 10 MB
• No watermarks or AI-generated images

🧒 Eligibility

• Open to all ages
• Entrants must be the original photographer
• SMRA staff and board members are not eligible

🏆 Prizes

• Grand Prize:
  • Your photo printed and sold as an official SMRA postcard
  • A prize pack of SMRA merchandise (e.g., T-shirt, hat, stickers)
  • Your name credited on the back of the postcard and in SMRA materials
• People’s Choice Award:
  • Voted on by the public through a donation-based voting system
  • May also be printed as a postcard or featured online

🧾 Judging Process

• SMRA staff  will select 5–10 finalists
• Finalists will be posted for public voting (1 dollar = 1 vote)
• The winning photo will be the one with the most votes by July 14

🔒 Usage Rights (Contest Only) By submitting a photo, you agree to the following:

• You grant SMRA the right to use your photo only for:
  • Producing and selling the postcard if selected
  • Displaying the photo on our website, social media, and printed materials related to the contest
• SMRA will always credit your name when using your photo
• You retain full ownership and copyright of your photo
• No other usage or licensing will occur without your written permission

📃 Legal Stuff

• You confirm that your photo is your original work and that you have permission from any recognizable people or private property owners in the image
• Incomplete or late submissions will not be accepted
• SMRA reserves the right to disqualify any photo that does not follow the rules
• SMRA may cancel or adjust the contest timeline at its discretion
