Report a Problem

Who Ya Gonna Call?
DFO         1-800-565-1633  for saltwater or Atlantic salmon issues
NS DNR   1-800-565-2224  for freshwater, except Atlantic salmon issues
Fishery officer counting fish taken illegally
The Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources, DNR, has a toll-free phone# for us to report problems anywhere in NS. I am assured by our conservation officer that it is monitored effectively & that the on-call officer will be reached by phone or radio if not in the office.

Our Federal Department of Fisheries & Oceans, DFO, handles it similarly, same monitoring station as RCMP use, monitored effectively I'm assured by a DFO officer.

Problems may include fish habitat violations as well as poaching & other fishery violations.
